Hungarian hi-fi publication AV-Online deliver a highly positive review of the Cubitt 5 where the compact active speaker system impressed with its spacious presentation, versatile connectivity and engaging sound.
In its detailed evaluation, AV-Online explores how the Cubitt 5 brings Fyne Audio’s core technologies into a convenient plug-and-play system. The speakers feature a 5-inch IsoFlare point-source driver with FyneFlute surround, DSP-controlled amplification and a total of 240W of Class D power. Extensive connectivity, including HDMI ARC, Bluetooth aptX HD, phono and optical inputs, further positions the Cubitt 5 as a flexible solution for music, TV and vinyl playback.
The review particularly highlights the Cubitt 5’s wide dispersion and open soundstage. Despite its compact dimensions, the speakers create an expansive stereo image while maintaining coherence even when listening away from the central sweet spot. The system was also noted for retaining its composure at higher volumes, delivering stable dynamics and a balanced presentation.
Summing up its listening experience, AV-Online states:
“The main strength of the Cubitt: It did not pack the details into a closed, dense band, but created an expanded effect, almost enveloping us with the various details.”
